Everything we do at sea revolves around the sunrise and sunset.  You’ll see members of the crew and science party swarm outside at both dawn and dusk. It always looks similar, but there’s an element just different enough every time to keep it interesting.

Yesterday we were treated to some crazy weather on the horizon. As we waited for the sun to set we could see at least three squalls brewing. A few kilometers away a cloud began to spin, and we watched it fall all the way to the water surface.

The crew kept a watchful eye on the storms surrounding us, but we observed peacefully and sailed over glass seas all day. After the squalls retreated, the sky provided a double rainbow for its final act of the evening.
